About

QUTEFS was founded in 2007 as one of the only student societies at QUT. EFS' birth was followed by significant popularity as this kind of service was previously not available at the QUT Business School. QUTEFS won several awards in youth, which has placed the society as the leading student society at the QUT Business School. EFS works tirelessly to bridge the gap between students and corporate Australia. The society procures sponsorship funding from leading graduate employers and rebates from the QUT Guild to help us in our purpose. EFS hosts a range of events from social parties to professional networking events (with over 200 attendees) and all thats in between.

EFS is proudly the most active student society at QUT, and perhaps even in the South-East Queensland region. The society had a stellar year in 2018 with students' $10 members granting them access to over 25 events - most of which we free of charge and provided students with face-to-face access to Australia's leading graduate employers.

Competitions with cash prizes, networking, professional development, social events, free coffee, panel events, firm crawls, weekly business articles, annual major publications, video-series interviews with corporates, workshops teaching students real skills - what more could you ask for with a $10 membership?

Our mission statement of EFS outlines three main goals.

Inspire

Few people know just what economics and finance are; fewer still are aware of the amazing opportunities the field presents. EFS seeks to inspire a love for economics and finance within its members; helping to establish a lifelong passion.

Inform

jobs that aren’t. By attending EFS networking events members gain the opportunity to liaise with professionals in the field of economics and finance, human-relations personnel and even corporate CEOs. The contacts you make at EFS may not get you a job, but they can certainly help get your foot in the door.

Incorporate

They say only 20% of jobs are ever advertised, EFS can help find the jobs that aren’t. By attending EFS networking events members gain the opportunity to liaise with professionals in the field of economics and finance, human-relations personnel and even corporate CEOs. The contacts you make at EFS may not get you a job; but they can certainly help get your foot in the door.
